There are creatures unknown to us that populate the darkest corners of this planet.
Some are simply harmless animal species, while others, according to the stories of those who see them, appear monstrous, with which no one would ever want to deal.
One of these places is located in Russia, in the north east of Siberia, and is known as Lake Labynkyr.
A lake of 61 square km, located at 1000 meters above sea level, whose estimated depth reaches up to 53 meters.
It would seem to all intents and purposes a lake like many others, if it were not, which according to some, would be the home of a monster.
The devil of the lake, this is the name that he decided to assign, whose sightings date back as far back as the 1800s.
According to the descriptions released by the witnesses who spotted him, the monster would have a length between 7 and 10 meters, it would have a dark gray color, with a very long neck, with a mouth full of sharp teeth.
The descriptions given led scholars to compare it to a Plesiosaurus, a lived prehistoric reptile, according to official sources between the upper Triassic period and the upper Cretaceous period.
A sighting of the monster in more recent times took place in 1953.
The Soviet scientist Victor Tyerdokherbof, in his statement, claimed to have spotted the creature during a research expedition in the lake.
The testimony of Tyerdokherbof, caused such a clamor that in 1964, the research department of the Lomonsonv state university decided to carry out an expedition, aimed at seeking that creature.
During the expedition, there was a twist.
The biologist Nikolai Glandikh, stated, that while sailing on the lake, he saw in the water a creature completely similar to the one described above.
But that wasn’t the only twist.
In fact, contrary to all expectations, a few days later, two other scientists who were part of the mission also claimed to have spotted that creature.
By now the story was too interesting to be abandoned.
Despite all the sightings, for reasons that are not well understood, the researches suffered a brief stop period until 1978, when another group went on the lake to carry out further analyzes.
On that occasion, too, something appeared, this time however, no longer in a peaceful manner.
The members of the group declared that on that occasion, they had to escape from the lake, because they were attacked by a huge monster.
After their experience, the research, at least according to official sources, suffered a sharp setback.
It took 2006 for these to resume.
Ludmilla Emeliyanova, professor of biogeography at the University of Moscow, began her research on the lake using a sonar.
During the sounding of the lake, the sonar recorded a huge object that wandered under their boat.
Emeliyanova’s statements were, that the one resumed, was clearly an animal still alive.
The tests that were shown through the images taken indicated a very dense homogeneous structure, which was slightly above the bottom.
Research continued until a group of Russian researchers claimed to have found evidence that the sighted animal was only a fish, to be precise a pike.
Of course, apart from their statements, no evidence was presented so that it could be studied and analyzed in comparison to those brought over the years by all the various researchers who dealt with the case.
It seems strange that all the sightings of people more interested in scientific research, than in the journalistic scoop have never recognized in that creature spotted by them, even through the use of specific instrumentation, a simple pike.
Not to be forgotten also all the testimonies, naturally including that of those who escaped from the lake because they were attacked.
Perhaps what is actually hiding in Lake Labynkyr is better to remain a secret.

Ci sono creature a noi sconosciute che popolano gli angoli più bui di questo pianeta.
Alcuni sono semplicemente delle specie animali innocue, altre invece, secondo i racconti di chi le avvista, appaiono con sembianze mostruose, con cui nessuno vorrebbe mai avere a che fare.
Uno di questi luoghi si trova in Russia, nel nord est della Siberia, ed è conosciuto come il lago Labynkyr.
Un lago di 61 km quadrati, situato a 1000 metri sopra il livello del mare, la cui profondità stimata arriva fino a 53 metri.
Sembrerebbe a tutti gli effetti un lago come tanti altri, se non fosse, che secondo alcuni, sarebbe la dimora di un mostro.
Il diavolo del lago, questo è il nome che gli si è deciso di assegnare, i cui avvistamenti risalirebbero sin dal 1800.
Secondo le descrizioni rilasciate dai testimoni che lo hanno avvistato, il mostro avrebbe una lunghezza tra i 7 e i 10 metri, avrebbe un colore grigio scuro, dotato di un collo molto lungo, con la bocca piena di denti aguzzi.
Le descrizioni fatte, portarono gli studiosi a paragonarlo ad un Plesiosauro., un rettile preistorico vissuto, secondo fonti ufficiali tra il periodo Triassico superiore e il periodo Cretacico superiore.
Un avvistamento del mostro in epoca più recente, avvenne nel 1953.
Lo scienziato sovietico Victor Tyerdokherbof, in una sua dichiarazione, affermò di avere avvistato la creatura durante una spedizione di ricerca nel lago.
La testimonianza di Tyerdokherbof, suscitò un tale clamore che nel 1964, il dipartimento di ricerca dell’università statale Lomonsonv, decise di effettuare una spedizione, mirata a cercare quella creatura.
Durante la spedizione, vi fu un colpo di scena.
Il biologo Nikolai Glandikh, affermò, che mentre navigava sul lago, scorse nell’acqua una creatura del tutto simile a quella descrittagli in precedenza.
Ma quello non fu l’unico colpo di scena.
Difatti, al contrario di tutte le aspettative, a distanza di pochi giorni, anche altri due scienziati che facevano parte della missione, affermarono di avere avvistato quella creatura.
Ormai la vicenda era troppo interessante per essere abbandonata.
Nonostante tutti gli avvistamenti, per dei motivi che non sono ben chiari, le ricerche subirono un breve periodo di stop fino al 1978, quando un altro gruppo si recò sul lago per effettuare ulteriori analisi .
Anche in quell’occasione apparve qualcosa, questa volta però, non più in modo pacifico.
I componenti del gruppo dichiararono che in quell’occasione, dovettero fuggire dal lago, perché attaccati da un enorme mostro.
Dopo la loro esperienza, le ricerche, almeno secondo fonti ufficiali, subirono una brusca battuta di arresto.
Ci volle il 2006, affinché queste riprendessero.
Ludmilla Emeliyanova, professoressa di biogeografia dell’università di Mosca, cominciò le sue ricerche nel lago servendosi di un sonar.
Durante lo scandagliamento del lago, il sonar registrò un enorme oggetto che si aggirava sotto la loro barca.
Le dichiarazioni della Emeliyanova furono, che quello ripreso, fosse chiaramente un animale ancora vivo.
Le prove che furono mostrate tramite le immagini scattate, indicarono una struttura omogenea molto densa, che si aggirava poco al di sopra del fondale.
Le ricerche proseguirono finché un gruppo di ricercatori russo, affermò di avere trovato la prova che l’animale avvistato fosse solamente un pesce, per l’esattezza un luccio.
Naturalmente, a parte le loro dichiarazioni, nessuna prova fu presentata così da poter essere studiata e analizzata a confronto di quelle portate negli anni da tutti i vari ricercatori che si occuparono del caso.
Sembra strano che tutti gli avvistamenti di persone più interessate alla ricerca scientifica, che allo scoop giornalistico non abbiano mai riconosciuto in quella creatura da loro avvistata, anche attraverso l’uso di strumentazione specifica, un semplice luccio.
Da non dimenticare inoltre tutte le testimonianze, compresa naturalmente quella di chi scappò dal lago perché aggredito.
Forse quello che in realtà si nasconde nel lago Labynkyr è meglio che rimanga un segreto.
