Oggetti misteriosi, che sembrano provenire da altri mondi civilizzati, fanno ogni tanto la loro comparsa. A volte si tratta solo di oggetti manipolati appositamente per speculazione. Altre volte invece, questi oggetti lasciano interdetti anche gli esperti che se li ritrovano davanti.

Mysterious objects, which seem to come from other civilized worlds, sometimes appear. Sometimes they are just objects that have been specially manipulated for speculation. Other times, however, these objects leave even the experts who find themselves in front of them in awe.
One of the latter, which has created a sensation in the scientific and ufological environment, is certainly the Betz sphere.
But let’s start from the beginning.
On May 26, 1974, Terry Mathew Betz, a 21-year-old boy, along with his parents, is inspecting a forest, which is part of their property, recently hit by a violent fire.
During the patrol, the family comes across a metallic sphere.
Terry picks it up, but the three at that moment don’t notice anything strange, in fact they take that object for an old-fashioned cannonball.
Back home, Terry decides to bring the ball into his room and places it near the window.
Nothing happens for two weeks, until the young Betz decides to play the guitar to entertain his friend Teresa Fraser.
At that moment something unexpected and surprising happens.
While it is playing, the sphere begins to vibrate, and as if it were not already singular enough, the latter begins to emit a pulsating sound, as if to respond to the chords played by Terry, a sound that seems to have a disturbing effect on the family dog.
Startled and intrigued, the Betz begin to pay more attention to the observation of that sphere.
They start with some simple experiments.
First place the sphere on the ground and then start pushing it. They immediately notice his strange behavior.
The pushed sphere suddenly stopped, and then started moving again on its own, changing direction making strange trajectories.
According to the story, even the sphere moved 12 minutes in a row without anyone touching it.
They also noticed that it was influenced by weather conditions, becoming more active on sunny days.
To all this must also be added the strange low frequency vibrating coming from inside.
He even went up an inclined plane without ever being touched.
At that point, the Betz family, realizing they had an extraordinary object in their hands, decided to contact the local media to divulge its existence.
Lon Enger, journalist for the Jacksonville journal, went to see his family to observe the strange abilities of that object.
Enger, having arrived at his destination, began with the phrase “I am wary of this kind of thing”.
He then decides to be himself to carry out the tests on the sphere in agreement with what he was told.
All of these gave the same result. The journalist also asked to carefully observe that object to understand if there were traces of manipulation, but apart from a small triangular symbol on one side, he found nothing.
He therefore had to admit the veracity of the story, which he reported in large letters in his newspaper.
This caused the press of all America to unleash. New York Times, London Daily and many others wanted to tell that incredible story.
The Betz house had by now become a bustle of onlookers. Everyone wanted to see that sphere, and besides numerous ufologists, the corps of Marines and NASA also made their appearance.
After several pressures, the family temporarily gave the sphere to the scientists of the navy, eager to carry out various tests of analysis on the sphere.
After several unsuccessful tests to understand its composition, even the latter had to give up temporarily.
The first attempts to photograph its interior with their x-ray machines failed miserably.
Subsequently they decided to use the Xray-300 x-ray spot for analysis, with which they finally managed to extrapolate some images.
They discovered to their great surprise that within the sphere there were two others.
And that these were surrounded by an unknown material, having an unusual density.
Moreover, they ascertained that the sphere showed 4 poles. 2 positive and 2 negative and these were not concentric.
At this point, eager to study the inside carefully, the scientists decide that for the next test, it would be essential to cut the sphere, but they are interrupted by the rejection of the Betz, which since this possibility was not included in the agreements taken previously, they ask for it and get the return.
However, the analyzes do not end there, in fact other scholars are eager to analyze it.
One of these was Dr. Carl Wilson, from the omega minus one institute, who in addition to stating that the object was composed of an alloy unknown to man, theorized that it could even be an alien probe or some anti-gravity device.Other analyzes were also carried out by Dr. James Alber Harder, who at the UFO congress in Chicago, in June of 1977, presented its surprising and at the same time terrifying results.
His words were, that based on x-rays, the two inner spheres would have been composed of elements much heavier than anything known to science.
He declared that the sphere had an atomic number greater than 140, even much higher than uranium, having an atomic number of 92.
At this point he added his terrifying conclusion.
“If we were to pierce the sphere, perhaps the masses would go into a critical state, thus causing an atomic explosion.” With these words the doctor put everyone on guard to further manipulate the sphere in an attempt to analyze it.
Here the curtain finally fell on the history that accompanied the Betz and their discovery.
None of these facts in the present day more known what the object actually was and who is its owner today.

Oggetti misteriosi, che sembrano provenire da altri mondi civilizzati, fanno ogni tanto la loro comparsa. A volte si tratta solo di oggetti manipolati appositamente per speculazione. Altre volte invece, questi oggetti lasciano interdetti anche gli esperti che se li ritrovano davanti.
Uno di questi ultimi, che ha creato scalpore nell’ambiente scientifico ed ufologico è sicuramente la sfera di Betz.
Ma iniziamo dal principio.
Il 26 maggio del 1974, Terry Mathew Betz, un ragazzo di 21 anni, insieme ai suoi genitori, sta ispezionando un bosco, che fa parte della loro proprietà, da poco colpito da un violento incendio.
Durante la perlustrazione, la famiglia si imbatte in una sfera metallica.
Terry la raccoglie, ma i tre in quel momento non notano nulla di strano, anzi prendono quell’oggetto per una palla di cannone vecchio stile.
Tornati a casa, Terry decide di portare la sfera in camera sua e la posiziona vicino alla finestra.
Non accade nulla per due settimane, fino a quando il giovane Betz non decide di suonare la chitarra per intrattenere la sua amica Teresa Fraser.
In quel momento accade qualcosa di inaspettato e sorprendente.
Mentre sta suonando, la sfera inizia a vibrare, e come se non fosse già abbastanza singolare, quest’ultima comincia ad emettere un suono pulsante, come per rispondere agli accordi suonati da Terry, suono che sembra avere un effetto disturbante sul cane di famiglia.
Stupefatti ed incuriositi i Betz iniziano a dedicare maggiore attenzione nell’osservazione di quella sfera.
Cominciano con alcuni semplici esperimenti.
Posizionano dapprima la sfera a terra per poi iniziare a spingerla. Subito si accorgono del suo strano comportamento .
La sfera spinta si fermava improvvisamente, per poi ricominciare a muoversi da sola, cambiando direzione compiendo strane traiettorie.
Secondo il racconto addirittura la sfera si mosse per 12 minuti di seguito senza che nessuno la toccasse.
Notarono anche che veniva influenzata dalle condizioni atmosferiche, divenendo più attiva nei giorni maggiormente soleggiati.
A tutto questo va anche aggiunto lo strano vibrare a bassa frequenza proveniente dal suo interno.
Arrivò persino a risalire senza mai essere toccata un piano inclinato.
La famiglia Betz, a quel punto, resasi conto di avere per le mani un oggetto straordinario decise di contattare i media locali per divulgarne l’esistenza.
Lon Enger, giornalista del Jacksonville journal, si recò dalla famiglia per osservare con i suoi occhi le strane abilità di quell’oggetto.
Enger, arrivato a destinazione, esordi con la frase “ Sono diffidente su questo genere di cose”.
Decide quindi di essere lui stesso ad effettuare le prove sulla sfera a confera di quello che gli era stato riferito.
Tutte queste diedero il medesimo esito. Il giornalista chiese anche di osservare attentamente quell’oggetto per capire se ci fossero tracce di manipolazione, ma a parte un piccolo simbolo triangolare su di un lato, non trovò nulla.
Dovette quindi ammettere la veridicità della storia, che riportò a grandi lettere sul suo giornale.
Questo fece scatenare la stampa di tutta l’America. New York Times, London Daily e tanti altri vollero raccontare quell’incredibile storia.
La casa dei Betz ormai era divenuta un via vai di curiosi. Tutti volevano vedere quella sfera e oltre a numerosi ufologi, fecero la loro comparsa anche il corpo dei Marines e la Nasa.
Dopo svariate pressioni, la famiglia cedette momentaneamente la sfera agli scienziati della marina, smaniosi di effettuare vari test di analisi sulla sfera.
Dopo svariate prove infruttuose, atte a capire la sua composizione, anche questi ultimi dovettero momentaneamente arrendersi.
I primi tentativi di fotografare il suo interno con le macchine a raggi x in loro possesso fallirono miseramente.
Successivamente decisero di utilizzare per le analisi la macchia a raggi x Xray-300, con la quale finalmente riuscirono ad estrapolare alcune immagini.
Scoprirono con loro grande sorpresa che all’interno della sfera, ve ne erano altre due.
E che queste erano circondate da un materiale sconosciuto, avente un insolita densità.
Inoltre, appurarono che la sfera mostrava 4 poli. 2 positivi e 2 negativi e che questi non erano concentrici.
A questo punto, desiderosi di studiarne attentamente l’interno, gli scienziati decidono che per il prossimo test, sarebbe indispensabile tagliare la sfera, ma vengono interrotti dal rifiuto dei Betz, che visto che tale possibilità non rientrava negli accordi presi in precedenza, ne chiedono e ottengono la restituzione.
Le analisi però non finiscono qui, difatti altri studiosi sono ansiosi di analizzarla.
Uno di questi fu il dott. Carl Wilson, dell’istituto omega minus one, che oltre ad affermare che l’oggetto era composto da una lega sconosciuta all’uomo, teorizzò che potesse addirittura trattarsi di una sonda aliena o di qualche dispositivo anti gravità.
Altre analisi vennero anche effettuate dal dott. James Alber Harder, che al congresso ufo di Chicago, nel giugno del 1977, presentò i suoi risultati, sorprendenti ed allo stesso tempo terrificanti.
Le sue parole furono, che in base ai raggi x, le due sfere interne sarebbero state composte di elementi molto più pesanti di qualsiasi cosa conosciuta alla scienza.
Dichiarò che la sfera possedesse un numero atomico superiore a 140, addirittura molto più alto dell’uranio, avente numero atomico pari a 92.
Aggiunse a questo punto la sua terrificante conclusione.
“Se si dovesse forare la sfera, forse le masse andrebbero in uno stato critico, provocando così un esplosione atomica”. Con queste parole il dottore mise tutti in guardia da manipolare ulteriormente la sfera nel tentativo di analizzarla.
Qui calò definitivamente il sipario sulla storia che ha accompagnato i Betz e la loro scoperta.
Nessuno di fatti ai giorni nostri a più saputo cosa mai fosse in realtà quell’oggetto e chi ne sia oggi il suo possessore.
