The color strategy

Ah…The human brain, what a beautiful invention.
But if it is true that it has enormous potential, it is equally true, unfortunately, that it has many weak points.
While we normally live our days, among worries, joys, pains, others study continuously in an assiduous way and for their own purposes, how to attack those points.
An example of this is what is defined as Color Strategy.
Red, green, blue and so on.
We don’t pay attention, but their combination can be used to manipulate our unconscious.
Let’s take for example the color white.
According to psychology, it would convey, in the observer, a sense of wisdom, purity, goodness and cleanliness.
Apart from the fact that it seems a bit Nazi discourse to me, let’s see how it is used, for example by companies.
Of course I won’t name companies or products in particular.
Let’s take some sweets or snacks, in their beautiful packaging with a prominent white part.
Now let’s analyze the content through the ingredients.
Excess sugar, fats, preservatives, dyes, not exactly the classic grandmother’s dessert, but something in which there is not the slightest trace of pure and healthy.
But psychology is that, the psychology in which the unconscious is misled.
But the choice of colors is targeted, also according to the gender to which the product and service is aimed.
This point might seem a bit trivial, if we think for example of shoes, clothes, etc… but it is less evident if these choices are made by companies that try to sell you a service rather than a product.
By the way, a study conducted shows that whatever the sex, the favorite color is blue.
But let’s analyze some other colors.
Red is used to cause physical sensations, even to the point of increasing blood pressure. Usually used a lot, to highlight someone or something.
Blue relaxes, gives a feeling of comfort. It represents calm, honesty, just a color that makes you feel at ease, in which you lower your defenses and the unconscious is affected. A couple of Social Networks that use this color come to mind. But let’s not name names.
As a last color, let’s analyze the multicolor.
Think of those companies that use it in their logos.
It represents inclusiveness, openness, with the aim of communicating a strong ethical and professional message.
I won’t go further in the description,
My aim was to introduce you to this strategy.
Looking around you, you will realize that too often these unconscious mental manipulation techniques are used to mislead our choices.
Now, however, we have one more tool, that of knowledge, a tool that many fear.
